Whiskey Tango One Zero Six

The above photograph shows a coastguard rescue helicopter at Weymouth, England. It was taken by local photographer Gareth Wright. I am not sure what type of helicopter this is, I am sure someone can help out in the comments on this. I have taken many photographs of aircraft both at airports and airshows and even when you’re expecting them it’s hard to capture them correctly in the frame. But this is a rescue helicopter, which I imagine would be more difficult to take a photo of. The angle is great, because to me it looks as if you the photographer are about to be rescued.

Being very critical it is a little tight in the frame and it might have been nicer (or not) with the aircraft just above the horizon, but that is just super critical. You can’t exactly ask the pilot to move up a metre or two when they are in the middle of a rescue. Overall I really like this photo and admire the way the majority of the rotors are in the frame.
